Developer Playground Games has finally given us the full, updated system requirements for the next Forza Horizon game launching on November 9th. Unfortunately, for those who were excited for the previously revealed minimum specs, they have since been upgraded to be a bit more demanding than we initially thought.
Previous specs for Forza Horizon 5 were actually quite lenient for low-end computers, but the ceiling has been slightly raised since then. Instead of needing a GTX 650 Ti or R7 250X graphics card, you will need at least a GTX 970 or RX 470 instead. Additionally, there are also some 'ideal' specs likely for ray tracing or 4K gaming.
With that said, let's take a look at the official Forza Horizon 5 PC system requirements...
Forza Horizon 5 minimum system requirements
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit (version 15063.0 or higher)
- CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200
- RAM: 8GB
- GPU RAM: 4GB
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon RX 470
- DX: 12
- Storage: 110GB
Forza Horizon 5 recommended requirements
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit (version 15063.0 or higher)
- CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X
- RAM: 16GB
- GPU RAM: 8GB
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 590
- DX: 12
- Storage: 110GB
Forza Horizon 5 ideal requirements
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit (version 15063.0 or higher)
- CPU: Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT
- RAM: 16GB
- GPU RAM: 10GB
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT
- DX: 12
- Storage: 110GB SSD
Forza Horizon 5 needs a GTX 1070 or RX 590 graphics card paired with either a Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 1500X to meet the recommended system requirements, which should then deliver around 60fps performance on High graphics settings at 1080p resolution. You will also need at least 16GB of RAM.
Forza Horizon 5 will need at least a GTX 970 or RX 470 GPU along with a Core i5-4460 or Ryzen 3 1200 CPU to meet the minimum system requirements, which should then achieve around 60fps performance on Low graphics settings at 1080p resolution. 8GB of system memory is needed at minimum.
Overall, looking at the specs above, Forza Horizon 5 will need around a 5 year old PC to play at its best.
