The Intel Non-Standard is a 1.8" 1GB Hard Disk Drive.

It uses the IDE interface and has a speed of 3600 RPM.

Intel Non-Standard

Drive TypeHard Disk DriveThis defines whether the drive is a large-capacity slower hard disk drive, a smaller-capacity but much faster solid-state drive, or a hybrid
Physical Size1.8"The size of the drive dictates which drive bays it will fit into - generally a small drive will fit into any bigger drive bay with an adapter
Capacity1GBThe drive storage capacity is the limit to the size of files that can be stored
Release Date01 Dec 2012 The later the release, the more likely manufacturer support will still be around
Cache Size2MBThe bigger the cache, the more data that can be temporarily stored for faster access
Power Required1WHDDs should generally require very little power to run, and SSDs even less
RPM3600 RPMThe higher the RPM, the faster the hard drive, and the faster stored data can be accessed
Read Speed1MB/sThe read speed is how fast the drive can read from data stored on it
Write Speed1MB/sThe write speed is how fast the drive can store data
IOPS1The IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second) is a common benchmark used to measure drive performance
Drive InterfaceIDEThe interface is the type of motherboard connection and defines the bandwidth limit of the drive

Non-Standard compatibility review

The Intel Non-Standard is a hard disk drive, which means it stores data using quickly rotating disks, or platters, that can be read and written on via the moving actuator arm. Hard disk drives generally have a large storage capacity, and so are perfect for large amounts of data. The potential performance is well below that of solid-state drives, but they can definitely still hold their own. The Intel Non-Standard is a bottom of the range hard disk drive, and should only ever be used as basic data storage.

With a cache of 2MB, the Intel Non-Standard can store a very small amount of data temporarily. Loading data that has previously been loaded will result in barely any difference in access speed and load duration. At a speed of 3600 RPM, the hard disk drive spins at a very slow speed. This speed should be avoided entirely unless used as a dedicated storage system, as the resulting performance would be infuriatingly slow.

With a capacity of 1GB, the Intel Non-Standard has a tiny amount of storage space for an hard disk drive. The IDE interface is now obsolete, so this hard disk drive would be a poor choice in a modern build. However, it would still function as a very low-end storage device.

A form factor size of 1.8" is the smallest drive size, and will almost certainly require a mounting adapter.
