By Jon Sutton on October 10th, 2018 at 02:05pm - original article from game-debate

At the end of this month, fans of Lovecraftian horror should be in with a treat when Call of Cthulhu arrives from Cyanide Studio. Cosmic horror meets murder investigation in an adventure RPG set on the magnificently foreboding Darkwater Island. Wrestle with your own sanity as you encounter strange creatures, murderous cults, and perhaps even the Great Dreamer itself. We're getting ahead of ourselves though, before plunging into insanity, here are the official Call of Cthulhu PC specs.

It would be a bit of a stretch to call Call of Cthulhu a AAA game. It's not to denigrate the game, but in terms of budget, it's slotting in some way beneath the big boys. This leads to system specs for Call of Cthulhu that fall some way under what we'd expect from the average AAA title.

The minimum system requirements for Call of Cthulhu are right around the minimum specs we saw for AAA games back in 2014, ensuring this is a game that should run on a nice wide range of systems. A modest 2GB DX11 video card should do the trick, paired with a low-end quad-core processor. This could be the tricky bit for some, although practically all modern Intel Core and AMD processors come with at least four cores.

For those wanting to crank the graphics settings up to Ultra at 1080p, the recommended system specs for Call of Cthulhu should be more than capable. The recommended CPUs appear to be a little on the high end, so you may find the minimum spec CPUs cope just fine at 60fps. On the GPU front, the ever popular GeForce GTX 970 will run Call of Cthulhu without a hitch, or a Radeon R9 390 if you're Team Red. For modern equivalents, look towards the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or the Radeon RX 470.
