Desperados 3 System Requirements Revealed
By Jon Sutton on October 1st, 2018 at 12:40pm - original article from game-debate

After Helldorados, you could be forgiven for being wary of a Desperados sequel. However, with none other than Shadow Tactics developer Mimimi at the helm for Desperados 3, expectations have soared sky-high for fans of real-time tactics and stealth, Commandos-style. These games have always been perfect for laptop gaming, but how does Desperados 3 fare? Here are the official (preliminary) Desperados 3 PC specs.

Desperados 3 Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-4150 3.5 GHz or AMD FX-4350 4.0 GHz
  • RAM: 4 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 2 GB Video Memory
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 570 or Radeon HD 6950 2GB
  • DX: DirectX 11
  • HDD: 20GB Available Hard Drive Space

Desperados 3 Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-4690 3.5 GHz or AMD FX-8350 4.1 GHz
  • RAM: 8 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 2 GB Video Memory
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 670 or Radeon HD 7870
  • DX: DirectX 11
  • HDD: 20GB Available Hard Drive Space

With Mimimi having already released Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, a very similar style of game, we already have a very decent idea of how Desperados 3 will perform. D3 has a much greater level of environmental, and so will be ever-so-slightly more demanding, but if you can run Shadow Tactics just fine, odds are you'll be able to play Desperados 3 just fine.

The major caveat with these system specs for Desperados 3 is developer Mimimi Productions has said these are preliminary system requirements and are subject to change. There's probably an argument to be made these Desperados 3 system requirements are a little higher than they should be, but not likely by much. In particular, the recommended CPUs seem much too high. Tech progresses though, and while there'll no doubt be weaker CPUs and graphics cards that can run Desperados III, the official specs here appear to be a safe bet.

One look at Desperados 3 should tell you this isn't going to be an overly tricky game to run. Just like its precursors (Helldorado aside), Desperados 3 is like the previous games and Commandos in that it takes place on isometric levels with fixed perspectives. As a tactics-based stealth game, there's not a whole lot going on at any one time should Desperados 3 should be relatively easy to run even on lower-end PCs.

Provided you can hit the minimum specs for Desperados 3, it should look almost on par with the screenshots revealed so far. Isometric games tend to not have a great deal of graphics options, what you see is what you'll get. Just about any 2GB video card should be able to handle anything Desperados III throws at it. It'll need to be paired with a modest dual-core processor and at least 4GB RAM, making Desperados 3 a laptop-friendly game.
