NBA 2K19 System Requirements Look Very Familiar
By Jon Sutton on July 19th, 2018 at 12:19pm - original article from game-debate

With less than two months to go until launch, 2K has been suspiciously quiet about NBA 2K19. We've had no gameplay details, no gameplay trailers, heck, we haven't even been given any screenshots yet. For NBA 2K19, the priority is probably just to rescue the basketball series from the microtransaction-riddled hell it became last year. Fingers crossed it's a clean break, and here's what you'll need to run this year's NBA 2K19 basketball sim on PC.

NBA 2K19 Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-530 2.9 GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 805 2.5GHz
  • RAM: 4 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 1GB Video Memory
  • GPU: GeForce GTS 450 or Radeon HD 7770
  • HDD: 70GB available hard drive space
  • DX: DirectX 11

NBA 2K19 Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-4430 3.0 GHz or AMD FX-8370 4.1 GHz
  • RAM: 8 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 2GB Video Memory
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 or AMD Radeon R9 270
  • HDD: 70GB available hard drive space
  • DX: DirectX 11

Familiar? They probably are to most NBA 2K fans. The system requirements for NBA 2K19 are identical to the system specs for NBA 2K18. In turn, they were identical to the system specs for NBA 2K17. The series is in stasis for a third consecutive year, meaning we expect NBA 2K19 to look, play, and have very similar performance to NBA 2K18. Last year pretty much all we got was a roster update and more egregious microtransactions, and NBA 2K19 is looking like an eerily similar scenario. If EA Sports can finally stop making terrible basketball games, 2K could actually find itself in trouble soon.

As for NBA 2K19's PC system requirements, these are the average system requirements we'd expect from a AAA game in about 2014. A mid-range 2GB video card should be able to max out NBA 2K19's graphics settings at 1080p. Something along the lines of a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or Radeon RX 570 shouldn't have any issues. Just about an Intel Core or AMD FX-4xxx CPU and upwards should do the job, although those after higher frame rates will benefit from a quad-core processor.

If you're just trying to get NBA 2K19 up and running and meet the minimum specs, practically any PC bought or built in the last five or six years with a dedicated graphics should be more than capable. It will need to be a 64-bit system but that's the only major thing to look out for.

As ever, remember you can always check out how well your PC can run the NBA 2K19 System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users.
