Assassin's Creed Origins PC System Requirements Revealed
By Jon Sutton on October 5th, 2017 at 05:12pm - original article from game-debate

Here we go, Ubisoft has answered our prayers and revealed the official PC system requirements for Assassin's Creed Origins. After a two-year absence, this series is back, this time set within an entire country rather than a single city. AC: Origins looks gorgeous and sprawling. Here are the PC specs required to run Assassin's Creed: Origins.

Assassin's Creed: Origins Minimum System Requirements (720p)

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-2400S 2.5 GHz or AMD FX-6350 3.9 GHz
  • RAM: 6 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 2GB Video Memory
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon R9 270
  • DX: DirectX 11
  • HDD: TBA

Assassin's Creed Origins Recommended System Requirements (1080p)

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 3.4 GHz or AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHz
  • RAM: 8 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 3 GB Video Memory
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 or AMD Radeon R9 280X
  • DX: DirectX 11
  • HDD: TBA

We certainly weren't expecting that. A quick glance at the system requirements will tell you all you need to know - Assassin's Creed Origins is not very demanding on PC. The minimum specs for Assassin's Creed Origins are for playing at 720p screen resolution while the recommended specs are the PC hardware needed to play AC: Origins at 1080p.

Beginning with the minimum requirements for AC: Origins, these are low enough to ensure Assassin's Creed Origins can run on a wide range of PC gaming systems. The GeForce GTX 660 is more than five years old and mid-range even when it was released, while the Radeon R9 270 is slightly newer yet on a similar performance level. If you've got a GeForce GTX 750 Ti you should be fine to play AC: Origins.

CPU requirements for Assassin's Creed Origins are a little higher but again, this is really old hardware being recommended. Any modern quad-core will be able to breeze through AC: Origins based on these system specs. This is the aspect that had us most worried due to the huge draw distances.

The performance delta between the minimum and recommended specs for AC: Origins is comparatively tiny. The GeForce GTX 760 and the Radeon R9 280X are just a small step up in their respective graphics card families, and they'll both guarantee you can run Assassin's Creed Origins at 1920 x 1080 resolution. One thing to look out for (GTX 760 owners in particular) is that Ubi recommends 3GB VRAM for 1080p. If you've got a 2GB video card, you may be able to run AC:O at 900p instead.

As ever, remember you can always check out how well your PC can run the Assassin's Creed Origins System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users.
