By Jon Sutton on May 18th, 2017 at 12:47pm - original article from game-debate

Another year, another opportunity to race multi-million dollar cars around race tracks at death-defying speeds. Only you need not defy death at all, you can do it all from the comfort of your chair in F1 2017. Sporting the upgraded graphics engine which made its debut in F1 2016, F1 2017 packs the latest Formula 1 World Champions and includes some of the most iconic cars from the last 30 years. It's out on August 25th, Codemasters has confirmed, and here are the official F1 2017 PC system requirements.

You've probably already noticed that the recommended specs for F1 2017 say predicted. That's because the minimum specs for F1 2017 are the only official ones provided, but they are identical to F1 2016's minimum system requirements. While we're awaiting confirmation, it stands to reason the recommended specs are also going to be pretty much the same between F1 2016 and F1 2017. For Formula 1 aficionados, this means that if you could play last year's edition, you're going to be able to play F1 2017 on PC just fine.

This is the second year since the move to an upgrade graphics engine for the F1 series, ensuring the PC version of F1 2017 looks every bit as good as its console counterparts. It also comes with the bonus of an unlocked frame rate and sky-high resolution.

That said, you're probably to need quite a beefy rig if you want to see F1 2017 look its absolute best. At least 4GB RAM is required to max out F1 2017's graphics settings, although is also likely targeted at 4K resolution. If you're playing at 1080p, F1 2016 suggests 2GB VRAM should be absolutely fine.

8GB RAM system memory is also the absolute minimum for F1 2017, which is fairly lofty for a minimum. We wouldn't like to say whether you could get away with less, but if you are thinking of playing F1 2017 with 4 or 6GB RAM, be sure to ask your fellow GD'ers on the F1 2017 game page how they fared with performance so you can get a good idea.

Remember, you can always check out how well your PC can run the F1 2017 System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users. Compare your graphics card to the F1 2017 benchmark chart.
